I am a racer.
My racing career began on the water in rowing boats and has moved to the bike. While rowing brought me to England from the United States, I’ve been playing bikes ever since I retired. Cycling transitioned from cross-training to the focus of my training after I raced at Crooked Gravel in 2023, where I finished 30th. Pursuing speed on the bike, challenging myself in new ways, and connecting with a new community pushed me to accelerate my training and ambitions.
Why I ride
For the Challenge: Every race is an opportunity to push my limits. Whether it’s a grueling climb or a sprint finish, I’m constantly testing myself to see what I’m capable of.
For the Community: I love being part of a team. I’ve found teams in different places around the cycling community. Whether that be the team that forms on the Saturday group ride or something more serious there is community everywhere.
For the Growth: I love taking risks, trying new strategies, and learning from each race. It’s what drives me to improve every time I get on the bike.
What’s next?
I’m setting my sights higher for 2025, both on and off the bike:
Monthly Group Ride for Women in Windsor: Starting in October 2024, I’m launching a monthly ride to build community and support among local female cyclists.
Bi-weekly Podcast: Season 1 kicks off in January 2025, where I’ll dive into training, racing, and women’s cycling news, sharing my journey and stories from others.
Primary Racing Goal: Compete in a multi-day stage race—testing myself in a whole new way.
Secondary Goals: Qualify for the Gravel World Championships and work my way to Cat 2 on the road.
2025 is all about pushing boundaries, building community, and sharing the ride with others.
